While some runway looks are best left on the catwalk due to their fantastical designs, sometimes you can find the tiniest fashion show details to incorporate into your everyday wardrobe.

This exotic feathery cream top with black bow sash is feminine and fashion forward; however, I have few occasions which call for feathers. So, I used the style inspiration to create a similar, more wearable look.

Get The Look: Fashion Show Bow

The focal point of our runway inspired look is the cream top (sans the feathers) and black bow belt.  I found this lovely Tory Burch silk top in cream and black patent bow skinny belt by Steve Madden.  Both pieces convey the image were looking for, but dont carry the haute couture price tag. The most hilarious things transpire on fashion-centric reality shows when the word “couture” enters the competitive mix. The main challenge on night’s edition of RuPaul’s Drag Race is the perfect example of the craziness the word inspires: The queens were solicited to create a couture, one-of-a-kind runway look based on one of eight different cakes, including pineapple upside down cake, chocolate lava cake, princess cake, and so on.

High Street fashion giant Uniqlo has launched a satellite website for brand fans to share their “Uniqlooks”. (See what they did there?).

Anyway.

“Uniqlooks” is a members-only image led community site that lets budding stylists and keen Uniqlo fashionistas post pictures of themselves to browse,  “like” other user’s images and to collate their own lookbook of street-style photography – all clad in Uniqlo, natch.

A neat little concept, this latest brainwave embraces the mindset of Generation D in a bear hug and borrows from some of Uniqlos’s contemporaries; the street style self posed ethic of the blogoshere, hauling, the legend of the Sartorialist, social networking culture and my current procrastination black hole, Pinterest.

Uniqlo has elevated the high street brand to street style chic by allowing us to play the game and create a persona of urban hipsterdom for ourselves.

White. Dress. (Idiocracy, guys. It’s coming! Yay humanity!) You know, the Kimberly Ovitz-designed dress Lindsay Lohan wore to her arraignment, during which she pleaded not guilty to felony grand theft charges, filed after the actress was accused of stealing a $2,500 necklace in Venice, Calif.
