Can any fashion lover miss the Milan Fashion Week?  On Jan. 14, people in the industry traveled from around the world to the capital of fashion. Click on the Full Screen button to the right of the photos below to see them in their full splendor.

The Milan train station is some distance away from the main site of the fashion shows. Because taxi drivers were still striking on Jan. 13, people in various attire—those who were well-dressed, stylish, and chic, and those who dressed to express individualism or eccentricity—took to the narrow streets in Milan, against the background of the city’s historical buildings, stone-paved roads, slowly moving trams, and the bright winter sun.

These diverse pedestrians certainly added extra charm to this fascinating city.

My Feelings on the Shoo In Shoe

My sister is an avid online shopper, and from time to time I’ll receive a Facebook message from her with a list of links to clothes that she’s currently obsessing over. Apparently getting a second opinion is “absolutely necessary”, but honestly I think she just asks for my advice so she can do the opposite of whatever I tell her. Still, I dutifully click through all most of the links, and I have to say it’s a good way to waste 10 minutes. Especially when you get gems such as these:

Patchwork…FIT PICS!

It’s Easy Being Green

I love this emerald dress from Marc by Marc Jacobs, especially with those brown oxford looking heels and tan socks. It kind of reminds me of a tree. Beware of wearing socks at this length if you have shorter legs, or thicker ankles. Instead, opt for a solid or patterned tight.

Designer Domenica Dolce and his partner Stefano Gabbana are the faces behind the luxury brand Dolce and Gabbana. It was founded in 1982 and had its first runway show displaying the brand’s women collection in Milan in 1985. Its first outlet store was in Tokyo, Japan. Madonna has become one of its first clients sporting one of the brand’s collections in Cannes Film Festival in 1991. The fashion icon and entertainer eventually becomes one of the D&G’s endorsers.

Dolce and Gabbana designer clothes are famous for its signature corset dresses. It also has a number of pieces with leopard prints and is popular for its smooth and sleek 3-piece pantsuits. Full Post…
